about ErP
The commission of the European communities published ErP(Energy Related Produts) directive《COMMISSION REGULATION(EC)NO 244/2009, implementing Directive 2005/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for non-directional household lamps》on 3th,March,2009.There were eight clauses and four attachmentes.
For halogen bulb and filament lamp's implementation date, Energy Permission Standard and liferequirements, the ErP (Energy Related Produts)direvtive provide provision.
1, Stage 1(From 1th, September,2009 to 31th, Augest,2010): Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp 10.75W-81W (Lumens Flux between 60-950lm) must achieve Class E standard.Beyond this range, Halogen bulb and Filament lamp must achieve Class C standard.
2, Stage 2(From 1th, September, 2010 to 31th, Augest,2011): Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp 10.75W-65W (Lumens Flux between 60-725lm) must achieve Class E standard.Beyond this range, Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp must achieve Class C standard.
3, Stage 3(From 1th, September, 2011 to 31th, Augest, 2012): Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp 10.75W-45W (Lumens Flux between 60-450lm) must achieve Class E standard.Beyond this range, Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp must achieve Class C standard.
4, Stage 4(From 1th, September, 2012 to 31th, Augest, 2013): All clear Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp must achieve Class C standard.
5, From Stage 1 to 4(From 1th,September, 2009 to 31th, Augest,2013): Lamp's rated life-span must be equal or greater than 1000hrs
6, Stage 5(From 1th, September, 2013 to 31th, Augest, 2016): All clear Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp must achieve Class C standard, Lamp's rated life-span must be equal or greater than 2000hrs
7, Stage 6 (Since 1th, September, 2019), all c Tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp must achieve Class B standard, except G9 and R7S base series which need to achieve Class C standard.Lamp's rated life-span must be equal or greater than 2000hrs.
8, Since 1th, September, 2009, all non-clear lamp(e.g Frosted bulb) must achieve Class A standard.
To lamp's Lumen maintenance,number of switching cycles,starting time,lamp warm-up time, premature failure,colour readering, and power factor, the ErP (Energy Related Produts) direvtive made the expressly provided.
Concurrently, the lamp's packaging (including the chart,numbers,signes, ect on the packaging) was ruled in the ErP(Energy Related Produts) directive
1, When the nominal lamp power is displayed outside the energy label in accordance with directive 98/11/EC, the nominal luminous flux of the lamp shall also be separately displayed in a font at least twice as large as the nominal lamp power display outside the label;
2, Nominal life time of the lamp in hours(not higher than the raged life time);
3, Number of switching cycles before premature lamp failure;
4, Colour temperature(also expressed as a value in Kelvins);
5, Warm-up time (may be indicated as 'instant full light' if less than 1 second)
6, Lamp dimensions in millimeters(length and diameter).
7, On packaging, it can be claimed equivalence with an incandescent lamp, the claimed equivalent incandescent lamp power shall meet the directive requirements in the packaging.
This shows that:Since September, 2009, all incandescent lamp can't achieve Class C standard. Until 31th,Augest, 2012,it will delist step by step.
All tungsten halogen lamp which can't achieve Class C standar will delist on 31th, Augest, 2012.
All non-clear tungsten halogen lamp and incandescent lamp delisted from 1th, September, 2009.
From 1th, September,2016 beginning, the EU marker just can sale special series non-directinal household lamps which are Class B standard (Low voltage clear tungsten halogen lamp) and Class C standard (main voltage clear tungsten halogen lamp: G9 and R7S base series)
